A few things about The Old Granary and our team

High quality, recently converted, family-run accommodation in the heart of the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside.

The Old Granary is located on our family potato farm and consists of three bespoke modern holiday cottages in a converted barn. It is ideal for both short breaks and long term business stays.

Whether you need a relaxing couple of nights away, or a living space for days, weeks, even months at a time, there is no place more suited to your needs.

We are ideally situated for easy access to Immingham, the Humber Bank, Hull, Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Lincoln.

Everything in our accommodation is designed with maximum convenience in mind.

Self-catering in our apartments is made extremely easy with:

  • Fridge/freezer/Cooker and induction hob
  • Nespresso machine/Smart TV, Bluetooth speaker, digital radio alarm and complimentary Wi-Fi
  • Washing machine, ironing board, iron and clothes airer
  • Hairdryer
  • Underfloor heating in each apartment
  • Heated clothes driers
  • Bike cleaning and maintenance kit available

Our Renovation

Stemming right back to the 1800s, the barn was originally used as a granary. The ground floor served as a cart store and threshing barn, while the first floor was utilised to store sacks of grain. Throughout the next two centuries, the barn contributed to multiple generations of farming before its dramatic renovation in 2017.

The transformation from farm building to high-quality accommodation was made possible thanks to the hard work of everyone involved. The renovation, which was completed in September 2018, included splitting the building into three apartments, installing a new roof, water provision and the introduction of electric power.

The Local Area

Commuting from The Old Granary couldn’t be easier with the Humber Bridge, Lincoln, Hull, Immingham Docks, Scunthorpe and Grimsby all within a 20 – 30-minute drive.

The M180 (3 miles away) provides easy access to the M1. Barnetby train station (3 miles away), connects to Lincoln, Newark, Sheffield and Grimsby. Our local airport is Humberside Airport (4.5 miles).

As you’d expect with us being located in the stunning Lincolnshire countryside, The Old Granary offers easy access to a range of superb local walks and cycle routes. National Route 1 is a particular favourite of ours when it comes to cycling, while the Viking Way is a fantastic route for keen walkers just five minutes walk away. The Old Granary is on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds which can provide a vast choice of walking routes with pubs along the way.

On the farm we have 4km of Permissive Rights of Way which guests are welcome to use. Please note that these are closed for six days a year. The only closure date so far in 2024 is 17th January.  There will be 5 more dates, these will be confirmed here as soon as possible.

Local Attractions

The Old Granary is located close to the historic market towns of Caistor, Brigg and Louth. All provide a selection of restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops. There is a swimming pool in Brigg and Louth. The nearest gym is three miles away in Caistor and the nearest pub is a short walk across the footpath to Grasby.
