A few things about The Old Granary and our team
The Old Granary is located on our family potato farm and consists of three bespoke modern holiday cottages in a converted barn, ideal for both short breaks and long term business stays.
Whether you need a relaxing couple of nights away, or a living space for days, weeks, even months at a time, there is no place more suited to your needs.
We are ideally situated for easy access to Immingham, the Humber Bank, Hull, Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Lincoln.
Self-catering is made extremely easy with:
Stemming right back to the 1800s, the barn was originally used as a granary. The ground floor served as a cart store and threshing barn, while the first floor was utilised to store sacks of grain. Throughout the next two centuries, the barn contributed to multiple generations of farming before its dramatic renovation in 2017.
The transformation from farm building to high-quality accommodation was made possible thanks to the hard work of everyone involved. The renovation, which was completed in September 2018, included splitting the building into three apartments, installing a new roof, water provision and the introduction of electric power.
Manor Farm is currently being farmed by the second and third generation of the same family. Growing potatoes, cereals and sugar beet, the farm has also been part of a successful environmental scheme for the last 15 years, encouraging biodiversity and developing soil health across the farm.
Sisters, Clare and Louise, have both returned to join Paul and Kate Knapton on the family farm after working in London for nearly ten years.
We are now heading into winter after finishing cereal harvest earlier in the summer, a process we enjoyed showing many of our guests during that time. Potato harvest also went well with the stores now full. Our sugar beet has been harvested and will be processed into Silver Spoon sugar sold in British supermarkets. In a total contrast to last year we now have all cereals drilled up, putting down roots and hopefully growing well during the winter.
